I finally got round to painting the birds from my last post! You can’t quite see the gold flecks in the adult bird in the pictures though *sigh*.
My mum made me laugh when she first saw them, she said they looked like fish *face palms*.
Anyhoo, here they are!
My David Attenborough moment in the garden. The wind was less than helpful.
It’s exactly a year since my last post *insert disapproving look*.
It has been an interesting year for me. I’ve been working hard, acquiring new skills and making things. I have lots planned for the year ahead and will be sharing it here on my blog.
First up we have a few character sketches I’m working on. They’re for a story idea I’ve been thinking about for the past couple of years. I will repost this once it’s finalised!
I love Jazz music. I often listen to it when I’m in a creative mood, working or just chilling out. This time I was chilling out with my eyes closed and foot tapping when some Melody Gardot came on. A song of hers I like called ‘If The Stars Were Mine’ just filled my mind was images. Images that I wanted to illustrate. So here are a couple of ‘thumbnails I messed around with in photoshop. I hope to use watercolours or acrylics. Maybe both.

I have neglected my blog lately.(No new posts since mid Jan *shakes head disapprovingly*.) In an effort to rectify this I have made a decision.
Every Wednesday I will post something on my blog. It could be anything. Most likely an illustration of some sort but maybe some randomness. Good randomness. I may post on other days too, but there will always be a post on a Wednesday.
If you are subscribed to my blog (well done you!) you’ll get the latest posts sent straight to your email. If you want to follow the general happenings in my life, work and creativity there is my Twitter account.
That about covers things for now. I’m about to literally run off to work now (like my bird friend below).
Next post: Wednesday 14th March! See you then.
I started to regret painting it in. I actually quite liked the black and white and wanted to reverse time so I could add tone in different shades of grey – but it was too late. So, in an effort to actually finish the projects I start, I went ahead and finished it.
Before the colour:
PS. Apologies for the lighting quality of the pictures. I’m using my camera to take pictures of my work until I get a scanner. Not sure which one to get. Any suggestions?
