Stars In Jars
I love Jazz music. I often listen to it when I’m in a creative mood, working or just chilling out. This time I was chilling out with my eyes closed and foot tapping when some Melody Gardot came on. A song of hers I like called ‘If The Stars Were Mine’ just filled my mind was images. Images that I wanted to illustrate. I started to do some thumbnails etc. I looked at them and thought ‘Am I being too literal with this?? Does it matter?’
I was and I’m not sure it matters. It probably doesn’t.
So here are a couple of ‘thumbnails I messed around with in photoshop. I hope to use watercolours or acrylics. Maybe both.
Maybe it would just be better in my usual style?

The Wednesday Weekly
I have neglected my blog lately.(No new posts since mid Jan *shakes head disapprovingly*.) In an effort to rectify this I have made a decision.
Every Wednesday I will post something on my blog. It could be anything. Most likely an illustration of some sort but maybe some randomness. Good randomness. I may post on other days too, but there will always be a post on a Wednesday.
If you are subscribed to my blog (well done you!) you’ll get the latest posts sent straight to your email. If you want to follow the general happenings in my life, work and creativity there is my Twitter account.
That about covers things for now. I’m about to literally run off to work now (like my bird friend below).
Next post: Wednesday 14th March! See you then.
Jellies
Finally complete!
I started to regret painting it in. I actually quite liked the black and white and wanted to reverse time so I could add tone in different shades of grey – but it was too late. So, in an effort to actually finish the projects I start, I went ahead and finished it.
Before the colour:
PS. Apologies for the lighting quality of the pictures. I’m using my camera to take pictures of my work until I get a scanner. Not sure which one to get. Any suggestions?
E&T
No extraterrestrial business here. Just a quick sketch I did.
Introducing Mr Edward Kitty and Ms Talula Belle, otherwise known as Eddie and Tally. They are part of a story I’m working on. So many ideas that I need to finish!
I should be posting the finished version of the Chrysaora post I did tomorrow, stay tuned.
Coasters
Happy New Year!
It’s already bloody 2012!…..*gulp*
OK! Mini freak-out over.
Hello and welcome to my first post for the year! Woohoo! I hope you all had lovely Christmas and new year celebrations. Today I bring you coasters. Yes, coasters. Lower those eyebrows, I see them rising. Let me explain.
Whilst stocking up on my creative supplies online, I noticed a sale on plasticine, clay and the like. I thought to myself, why not, and splashed out 71p (extravagant I know) on some yellow polymer clay (it was cheaper, lol). Anyway, it arrived with the rest of my supplies a few days later. However, to my dismay it was rock hard! After literally beating it back to a more pliable state I made these:
After they were baked in the oven, I got busy with the fun part!
You may have noticed they are pretty uneven and lumpy looking. That’s because they are. I have no idea whether I can use them as actual coasters, especially because I haven’t put a finish on them and I don’t know if they’re resistant to heat or cold. But, man oh man is experimentation fun! And I’m definitely up for having more fun!
